This is what the site actually does. It is not a lawyer’s certificate.
Who this is for
Beans is a private household kitchen on Stovfam. The kitchen is behind sign-in. Public pages do not list your recipes.
What we keep
- A session cookie named
beans_sessionso you stay signed in. A theme cookiebeans_themeremembers light or dark. - Family logins: email and a password hash. Household login uses a shared password, not an email.
- Recipes the household saves (ingredients, steps, notes, folders). Those are shared in this kitchen.
- Freezer, week plan, grocery, and chat on each login — not published to other logins.
- Table notes and groups among signed-in people on this kitchen. That table is not public.
- Invite and password-reset mail, if SMTP is configured. Waitlist requests include the email you typed.
- Optional extract helpers (AI, browser, nutrition lookup) only run on sources you paste or photos you send. Beans does not invent a recipe when a source cannot be read.
Share links
A recipe share is an unlisted link you mint on purpose. Search engines are asked not to index it. Anyone with the link can see that one card, not the rest of the kitchen.
What we do not do
- No ad networks, no social pixels, no sale of kitchen data — we do not run ads.
- No public recipe feed. Table is invite-only, on this kitchen, behind sign-in. Home is still “what are we cooking today?”
- Beans is a web app. It is not listed on the App Store or Google Play.
Questions about a login: use Account in the kitchen, or the address you already mail the household with.
